I’m pleased to announce that Boulder Post No. 10, American Legion will be re-opening on July 6, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. New hours will be from 3:00 to 7:00, M-F. We will be operating under the State and County's restrictions so expect some additional changes. The Post's Executive and House Committees welcome everyone back and hope to see you soon. The staff will do their best to keep you safe. To that end, below are some of the changes you will notice:
Initially, only Post 10 Legion, Auxiliary, and Sons will be permitted in the Post, no guests;
Please do not come to the Post if you are ill;
Operating hours will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday;
Smoking is incompatible with restrictions and will not be permitted in the facility;
A touchless thermometer will be used to check for fevers for all who want admittance;
You will be asked to sign in when entering the Post;
A host will seat you or you and your party, if arriving as a group;
Mingling with individuals other than those in your party should be avoided;
Social distancing of six feet will be required; and
A mask shall be worn except when dining and drinking.
We are offering the usual menu and drink choices at pre-close prices.
Let's keep each other healthy and safe.
Starting July 13th, one volunteer greeter will be needed for four hours each weekday. Greeters are responsible for meeting those entering the lounge, taking touchless temperatures, seating customers, answering questions, and sanitizing tables and other high-touch areas. I will be in touch with Lynne Duguay and Jason Towner to discuss volunteers and scheduling.
The next regular meeting will tentatively be held at 7:00 p.m. on August 4th.
Commander Don Eldhart
The American Legion is the largest wartime veterans service organization with 2.4 million members in nearly 14,000 posts in nearly every community in America. The Legion, established by an act of Congress in 1919, was instrumental in getting the original GI Bill through Congress and the creation of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Today, the organization is active throughout the United States, supporting current military personnel and veterans, sponsoring American Legion Baseball, Boys State, Oratorical Contests and other activities for youth, and pushing for the adoption of a constitutional amendment to prohibit desecration of the U.S. flag.
We honor all military holidays including Veteran's Day, Memorial Day and Flag Day.
